'''Famitsu Cup''' was a set of 2 events held on the Dreamcast versions of Phantasy Star Online and Phantasy Star Online Ver. 2 held in 2001.



==PSO Fan Appreciation Event Famitsu Cup==

This event was a time attack contest of the quest [[PSO Famitsu CUP]] held from March 23rd 2001 and ended on April 6th 2001 at 23:55.
The quest was made specifically for this event and was designed so you could play at any difficulty level.<br>
This event was held by Sega, Sonic Team, enterbrain, eAccess and ISAO.

===Prizes===
Depending on your placement, you could get a wide arrange of prizes, these were awarded to everyone placed 1st to 150th, along with some special placements.<br>
====1st-10th====
Places 1st-10th recieved alongside a cash prize, an A class license and a normally unobtainable rare item.
1st place recieved 200,000 Yen, 2nd recieved 150,000 Yen, 3rd recieved 100,000 Yen, 4th, 5th and 6th recieved 70,000 Yen and 7th to 10th recieved 50,000 Yen.

====11th-30th====
Places 11th-30th all recieved the Dreamcast Broadband Adapter.
====31st-60th====
Places 31st-60th all recieved a copy of the then upcoming Phantasy Star Online Ver. 2.
====61st-91st====
Places 61st-91st all recieved one Dreamcast 4X Memory Card.
====92nd-120th====
Places 92nd-120th all recieved one Dreamcast Visual Memory Unit (VMU).
====121st-150th====
Places 121st-150th all recieved 2 WebMoney Cards with a PSO design.
====Famitsu Award====
This special award was awarded to people who placed 222nd, 333rd, 444th, 555th, 666th, 777th, 888th, 999th, 1111th and 2222th.<br>The prize for this award was a chance to play with a Famitsu PSO editor, who was SAKURA-66 for the 222nd, 444th, 555th, 777th and 1111th placements, which the director of Phantasy Star Online, Takao Miyoshi, also joined in on with a HUmar character named SONIC.
====Sonic Team award====
This special award was awarded to people whose placement related to Sonic Team in one way or another.<br>
321st place was chosen for the japanese release date of Chu Chu Rocket! for the GBA.<br>
344th place was chosen as 344 can be read as Miyoshi, the director of PSO's name.<br>
531st place was chosen for it being the release date for Phantasy Star Online Ver. 2.<br>
623rd place was chosen for it being the birthday of Sonic.<br>
712nd place was chosen as 712 can be read as nights(NiGHTS).<br>
829th place was chosen as 829 can be loosely read as the Burning in Burning Rangers.<br>
917th place was chosen for it being the President's (Yuji Naka's) Birthday.<br>
1017th place was chosen for it being Sonic Team Maruyama's Birthday.<br>
1221th place was chosen for it being the release date for Phantasy Star Online.<br>
3838th place was chosen as 38 can be loosely read as samba (Samba de Amigo).<br>
====Booby prize====
This was awarded to the 5495th place with a time of 3 hours for achieving a terrible position. As a reward, they recieved 14800 Yen.
